Stephen Swan Gets Mocs' Second Automatic Qualifying Time At Shark Invitational
Stephen Swan set a school record with an automatic qualifying time of 1:38.61 in winning the 200-yard freestyle to highlight the Moccasins' second day of the Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational Saturday at Ft. Lauderdale.
Swan's automatic qualifying time came on the heels of Jeb Halfacre's automatic qualifying time Friday in the 200-yard individual medley.
The Moccasins won one other event Saturday, with the team of Halfacre, Miguel Ferreira, Allan Gutierrez and Swan taking the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:19.39.
Gutierrez had a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:40.31. Halfacre was fourth in the 100-yard butterfly in 50.66. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Halfacre, Robbie Swan, Ferreira and Stephen Swan placed second in 1:23.92.
Tampa and Nova Southeastern remained in first and second place, respectively, with the Moccasins in third halfway through the four-day event that concludes Monday.
