Mocs Finish Second At Tusculum Invitational
After matching Lynn in the first round of the Tusculum Collegiate Invitational at Kiawah Island, S.C., the Moccasins were not able to duplicate that effort Sunday and finished second in their opening tournament of the spring.
Tied at 297 heading into Sunday's final round, Lynn had an even better final round, shooting a 285 to win the tournament at 582. The Moccasins shot a 304 Sunday and finished with a 601 in the 18-team field.
Last year's tournament co-winner, M.J. Audette, had the Moccasins' best round Sunday, shooting a 73 to finish at 150 in a tie for 10th. Megan Kiley, Saturday's individual leader with a career-best 69, had a 77 Sunday and finished in a tie for fourth at 146.
Jackie Rajek followed her first-round 75 with a 74 and tied for eighth at 149. Barbora Vejlupkova shot an 80 to finish in a tie for 21st at 157. Amy Hodgkinson tied for 28th with a 159 after shooting an 83 Sunday.
Armstrong Atlantic's Kristen Sammarco was the tournament medalist, winning a scorecard playoff with Lynn's Jessica Bradley after both finished regulation at 144.
