Mocs Finish 7th At Cincinnati Invitational
Megan Kiley tied for 13th with a final round 73Improving their team score by 16 strokes from Saturday's round, the Moccasins finished in seventh place at the University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational Sunday at the Plantation Golf Resort in Crystal River.
One of only two Division II teams in the 19-team field, the Moccasins had the third-best round of the day Sunday with a 303 that allowed them to finish at 932. All six teams ahead of them were Division I teams. Florida International led from start to finish and won the tournament with a final team score of 878. Stetson was second at 902. Following Stetson were Morehead State (923), Xavier (926), Mercer (927) and Akron (929).
Megan Kiley had the Moccasins' best individual final round with a 73, which put her in a tie for 13th at 228. M.J. Audette had a final round of 77 and finished tied for 18th with a 229. Emily Rymer had her best round of the tournament, a 77, to finish at 240 in a tie for 52nd. Barbora Vejlupkova tied for 61st with a 242. Amy Hodgkinson tied for 64th with a 243. Hannah Duffie played as an individual and placed 84th with a 253.
The next tournament for the Moccasins will be the Samford Invitational at Birmingham, Ala., Apr. 9-10.
