Another Postseason Honor For Hawley
Michaela Hawley led the Moccasins to a 24-7 seasonMichaela Hawley has earned another postseason honor for her superb senior season that helped lead the Moccasins to the Sunshine State Conference regular season championship and a 24-7 record. She is a second-team selection on the Women's Division II Bulletin 2012 All-America Team. Earlier this week she received honorable mention recognition on the Daktronics Division II All-America team selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The SSC Women's Player of the Year, Hawley led the Moccasins and the SSC in scoring with a 20.0 average. She led the team in rebounding (7.8), field goal percentage (57.6), free throw percentage (82.0) and blocked shots (56). She scored in double figures in every game, including nine double-doubles, and was the only Moccasin player to start every game.
Her season total of 619 points is the second-best total in FSC history, trailing only the 717 points scored by Kim Disbro in the 1986-87 season.
For her career, Hawley ranks fifth in FSC career scoring with 1,801 points and ninth in career rebounds with 759. She is one of just five players in FSC women's basketball history to rank in the top ten in both career scoring and career rebounding.
