Mocs Do Not Receive NCAA Bid

The Moccasins knew their chances of being selected for the NCAA Division II Tournament were slim at best.  Sunday night the NCAA announced the field for the tournament and the Moccasins were not included.

Last week the Moccasins did make the South Region rankings, coming in at number nine, but to have a realistic chance to be selected they needed to be at least seventh. 

Sunshine State Conference champion Tampa will be the host for the South Regional that begins May 17.  The Spartans will play eighth-seeded Stillman, which received an automatic bid after winning the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title.

Delta State is seeded second and plays seventh-seeded North Alabama.  Lynn is seeded third and takes on sixth-seeded Alabama-Huntsville,  Defending national champion West Florida drew the fourth seed and meets fifth-seeded Nova Southeastern. 

The Moccasins did win six of their last seven games and finished with a 26-18 record.
