Janzen is Academic All-District for Second Time

Florida Southern men's swimmer Bruce Janzen has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team for the second year in a row. The junior from Lawrenceville, Georgia helped the Moccasins to a program-best third-place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships and was part of the Mocs' record-setting 400-medley relay team that won its second national title.
Janzen set a school record this year in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:49.12, and won the Sunshine State Conference championship in that event with a meet record time. He also swam on the league champion 200-yard medley relay team that went on to set another school record at the D-II National Championships. The winning 400-yard medley relay team not only set a school record at the national finals, but a new championship record as well, bringing home the title with a winning time of 3:12.43.
Janzen had already been named Second Team All-SSC this season, was an All-American in three different events, and was the Pat McFadden Award winner as Florida Southern's male scholar-athlete-of-the-year in 2012. He is now eligible for the Academic All-American At-Large Team, which will be announced on June 6.
