Mocs to Hold Inaugural Alumni Game on October 4
LAKELAND - Moccasin men's lacrosse coach Marty Ward has announced that his program is holding its inaugural alumni game on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 12 p.m. on the team's practice field at Lakeside Baptist Church.
The inaugural alumni game will pit current Moccasin players against former Florida Southern men's lacrosse players.
Florida Southern is coming off a record setting 2014 campaign in which the team won a program-best 11 games and finished with an 11-4 record and a 4-1 mark in the inaugural season of the Sunshine State Conference. The team also finished with a No. 12 ranking in the final USILA Division II Coaches' Poll and finished as runner-up at the inaugural SSC Tournament Championship.
Along with its 11-win season, the Mocs also set new school records for goals in a season (218) and goals averaged per game (14.53) and they also collected a school record 119 assists and a school record 337 points. FSC also sent new school records for goals in a game when they scored 28 against Shorter on March 8 and they set a new school record for goals in a single quarter as they had 12 goals in the third quarter of its 22-7 win over UMass-Boston on March 18.
