LAKELAND, FL – Saturday afternoon’s doubleheader between Florida Southern and Embry-Riddle was one of those “where to begin?” days. Where it ended was the Moccasins winning in extra innings on a sacrifice bunt by Makayla Deuberry, combined with a throwing error that allowed the run to score all the way from first. That only happened after the Mocs rallied from three different two-run deficits behind two-run homers from Maddi Conner and Meghan Sexton, with a whole lot of Jadin Dewith all day long. Eventually, both teams got wins in their final at-bats, with Embry-Riddle taking game one, 5-3, and Florida Southern taking the nightcap, 9-8 in eight innings.

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Hannah Flemming earned a top-10 finish in the 5,000-meter run for Florida Southern women's track on Friday as they competed in the 2019 UNF Spring Break Invitational. The Moccasins set three personal records in the 5000m led by Flemming's 18:00.08, the fourth-fastest time in school history and the second-best performer overall. Alayna Goll tied her 18:09.31 mark she set last week in Orlando and Ysabella Guerra set a personal record with her time of 18:14.11
LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis cracked the ITA Oracle rankings on Wednesday, earning the No. 30 ranking in the nation. The Moccasins received high marks for upsetting No. 14 Palm Beach Atlantic and benefitted from close losses to highly ranked opponents like No. 4 Saint Leo, No. 40 Embry-Riddle and No. 12 West Alabama in the computerized rankings.

LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis earned the upset on Wednesday afternoon, defeating New Jersey Institute of Technology in a close 4-3 match at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The No. 30 Moccasins' (7-9) win over the Highlanders (4-9) is the first over a Division I oppenent since defeating Bethune-Cookman on February 1, 2013 in an identical 4-3 scoreline. The Mocs are also now 4-2 this season in one-match decisions, most recently falling to Sonoma State on Sunday and defeating Ferris State at home on Friday before Wednesday's win.
