Second Half Begins With First Place on the Line Against Rollins
January 27The second half of the conference schedule begins Saturday night, and it begins with four teams within one game of first place in the Sunshine State Conference standings. Rollins and Florida Tech are tied for first, and Florida Southern and Eckerd tied for second just one game behind the co-leaders. All four of those teams go head-to-head on Saturday, with Florida Southern (12-5, 5-3) and Rollins (13-5, 6-2) meeting at 7:30 in Jenkins Field House. January 25LAKELAND – Needing a spark in the first half to awaken a sluggish offense, Florida Southern head coach Jarrod Olson turned to Melanie Ducott. In the second half, it seemed like everyone else got into the act. With five players scoring between eight and 10 points in the game, and Palm Beach Atlantic shooting just 25 percent, Florida Southern blew open a close game in the second half for a 59-39 win over the Sailfish in its final non-conference game of the season..
