Beach Volleyball Kicked off the 2019 Season at FAU's Paradise at the Burrow

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball competed in Florida Atlantic University's Paradise at the Burrow to open its season over the weekend. The Moccasins (0-4) dropped all four matches on the weekend. They opened the season with a 4-0 loss to North Florida (3-1) before dropping an afternoon match to Webber International, 4-1. 

The second day of the Paradise at the Burrow tournament saw the Mocs take on a pair of nationally ranked teams in No. 19 TCU and No. 20 Florida Atlantic. Florida Southern's number one pair of Kayla Trefren and Kylee Whiteleather picked up a second set victory (24-22) over No. 19 TCU's number one pair before falling in the third and final set. FSC's number three pair of Haley Goodrich and Celia Greco nearly defeated No. 20 FAU's number three pair as they lost the first set 20-22.

The Mocs will host UT Martin for a doubleheader on March 5 beginning at 10 a.m. Then Florida Southern will head to Charleston, S.C. to participate in the College of Charleston tournament, March 8-10.
