Beach Volleyball Extends Win Streak to Six Matches

ST. PETERSBURG, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball improved to 10-8 on the season with 4-1 victories over Lincoln Memorial and Eckerd in St. Petersburg on Tuesday afternoon. The Mocs took down the Lady Railsplitters for the second straight day. 

The day started off for the Mocs with two-set victories on the number one, four and five courts. On the number two court Kylee Whiteleather and Kayla Dumon dropped the first set but rallied back to take the second and third sets to win the point for the Mocs. 

Florida Southern defeated the host Eckerd Tritons for its tenth victory on the season. Courts two, four and five were all won in straight sets for the Mocs. The duo of Morgan Cleary and Katie Bergeron won the first set 21-13 and then clinched the point for the Mocs with a 22-20 victory in set two. Makena Wilson and Alex Montoya dropped the first set then bounced back to take sets two and three for the win. 

Ten wins for the Mocs doubles last years win total. 

Florida Southern is back in action at Florida Gulf Coast on April 2.
