Teter Named Google Cloud Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, IN - Florida Southern College baseball standout Jacob Teter has been named as a Google Cloud Academic All-District® selection, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday. Teter is one of 12 student-athletes to represent District 5, which is comprised of institutions from the Sunshine State Conference, Gulf South Conference, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Teter, who carries a 3.75 cumulative grade-point average as a criminology major, has the fifth-highest GPA among the 12 District 5 honorees. He has started all 47 games at first base for the Moccasins this seasons and is batting .326 with 29 runs, 57 hits, seven doubles, nine home runs and 48 runs batted in. Teter leads the team in RBI and walks, and began the year by reaching base safely in 38-straight games.

In a 24-5 win over Felician on March 6, Teter set a program record with 10 RBI in a single game. He is tied with four other players, two at the Division II level and one each at Division I and III, for the most RBI in a single game in NCAA baseball this season. Teter has recorded two or more hits in 17 different games this season, including five with three or more hits, and has driven in at least two runs on 12 different occasions.

Teter, who was the SSC Freshman of the Year and an SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll member in 2018, is now eligible to be selected as a CoSIDA Academic All-America selection. Academic All-Americans will be selected in June, and are voted out by members of CoSIDA. He is the 18th Moccasin baseball student-athlete to earn Academic All-District honors.

Teter and the Moccasins will take on Tampa this weekend in their final series of the season (May 10-11). Senior Day for the Mocs has been moved to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, just prior to the first game of a doubleheader with the Spartans.
