LAKELAND -  Each year a Florida Southern senior who exemplifies the College's ideals of academic excellence and outstanding character is named to the Honor Walk, the College's highest student award. The 2016 Honor Walk selection is Alex McClanahan, who is majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology, and is a four-year lettermen on the Moccasin men's basketball team.

The announcement of this year's Honor Walk student was made on Friday morning by Florida Southern President Dr. Anne B. Kerr during the College's 131st Founders Day Convocation held at Branscomb Auditorium.

"What a tremendous honor for Alex for achieving this prestigious award of the 2016 Honor Walk Student," Florida Southern men's basketball coach Mike Donnelly said. "Alex has been a tremendous teammate and an even more outstanding student in the classroom over the past four years and I'm excited to see him fulfill all of his future goals and aspirations."
