MELBOURNE, FL – Florida Southern College has won the 2017-18 men’s and women’s Sunshine State Conference Mayors’ Cups. The wins mark the 10th time an institution has won both Mayors’ Cups in the same academic year.
LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's basketball head coach Mike Donnelly has announced the addition of Kaiyem Cleary to his roster for the upcoming 2018-19 campaign. Cleary, the second player to sign with the Moccasins in the past week, will come to Florida Southern after spending a season at Redemption Christian Academy in New York. The 6-5 Cleary is a native of Great Britain and is coming off a season in which he averaged 20.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game while connecting on nearly 60.0 percent of his field-goal attempts (58.3).
LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's basketball head coach Mike Donnelly has announced the signing of high-school standout DeAndre Campbell for the upcoming 2018-19 campaign. Campbell will join the Moccasins after an outstanding senior campaign at Parkway Central High School in Missouri, where he earned all-district, all-state, and all-metro honors this past season. The 6-1 guard, who is also a football and baseball standout at Parkway Central, averaged 24.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game as a senior to earn Suburban Conference Player of the Year honors.

KANSAS CITY, MO - Florida Southern junior guard Jonathan Lawton has been named as a second-team all-district selection for the South Region, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced on Friday.
ATLANTA - After helping lead Florida Southern College men's basketball to an appearance in the NCAA South Region semifinal and putting together one of the most prolific offensive seasons in program history, junior guard Jonathan Lawton added to his postseason awards when he was named as a second team all-South Region selection by the D2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) on Monday.
ATLANTA - A poor-shooting first half proved to be too much to overcome as Florida Southern College men's basketball saw its season come to an end in a 90-77 loss to Eckerd in the semifinal round of the NCAA South Regional on Sunday at Forbes Arena. The Moccasins (21-11) shot just 28.6 percent and scored 20 points in the first half as the Tritons (26-6) built a 12-point halftime lead and never looked back en route to the victory and an appearance in Tuesday's South Region title game.
ATLANTA - Jonathan Lawton's clutch three-pointer with 57 seconds left in regulation erased a 21-point second-half deficit, and Tyler Smith's layup with 17 seconds to go in overtime completed an improbable comeback as Florida Southern College men's basketball rallied past No. 10 Morehouse, 98-97, to advance to the semifinals of the NCAA South Regional on Saturday at Forbes Arena.
ATLANTA - Florida Southern College men's basketball will begin its 30th NCAA Tournament appearance with a first-round matchup against No. 10 Morehouse in the NCAA South Regional at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Forbes Arena. The Moccasins (20-10) are the No. 8 seed in the South Region, while the Fighting Maroon Tigers (25-2) are the No. 1 seed and South Region host. Florida Southern finished third in both the Sunshine State Conference regular-season standings and conference tournament, while Morehouse was the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) regular-season champion, but fell to Claflin in the semifinals of the SIAC Tournament.
INDIANAPOLIS - The Florida Southern College men's basketball team will be playing in the 2018 NCAA Division II South Regional. On Sunday night the Mocs learned that they would be heading to Atlanta to face region No. 1 seed Morehouse College in the first round of the tournament South Regional tournament.
