PERRY, NY - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse head coach Marty Ward has been selected to coach the South squad in the annual USILA/Nike North-South All-Star Game, the USILA announced on Wednesday.
Ward will coach the combined Division I/II squad, which will be comprised of many of the top seniors in the nation. The North-South game has been played every year since 1940, with the exception of 1944 and 1945.
"I am extremely honored to coach in such a prestigious game," said Ward. "The USILA/Nike North-South game is a fixture in our sport and has a long tradition."
The game will be played at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 26.
Ward recently wrapped up his seventh season as the head coach at Florida Southern, guiding the Moccasins to the Sunshine State Conference semifinals. The Mocs also had six different players earn all-conference honors, and defeated a pair of ranked opponents during the year.
Chris Gabrielli of Providence College will coach the North squad in the game. The annual event also includes a Division III all-star game, which will be played prior to the Division I/II game.
