One of Florida Southern’s seven returning All-Americans after competing in the national finals for the first time as a sophomore… Earned a bronze medal by anchoring the 200-freestyle relay team in his first nationals competition.
As a sophomore (2017-18)… First Team All-American in the 200-freestyle relay (3rd place)… Competed as an individual in the 50-freestyle at the national finals… Had an NCAA provisional time in the 50-free, and missed one in the 100-back by a little over three-tenths of a second, another in the 100-fly by less than eight-tenths, and one in the 100-free by a little over half a second… Competed in all 12 meets for the Moccasins including the conference and national finals… Regular swimmer in the 50-free, both backstroke events, and the 100-butterfly… Swam the 100-freestyle once… Picked up two individual wins, both in the 50-free against conference foes Rollins and Nova Southeastern… Part of two relay wins, once in the 200-freestyle at Florida State, and the other in the 400-medley against Rollins… Finished the year ranked #2 on the Florida Southern times list in the 50-freestyle and was #5 in the 100… Had three other top-five times too, finishing #4 in the 100-back, #5 in the 200-back, and #4 in the 100-fly.

As a freshman (2016-17)… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Competed in six of seven regular-season meets plus the SSC Championships… One of the Mocs’ regular swimmers in the sprint freestyle events (50 and 100) in addition to the backstroke and butterfly… Regular swimmer in the 200- and 400-freestyle relay and both of the medley relays… Posted NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 50-free and helped one of the 400-freestyle relay teams hit another provisional time at the SSC Championships... Ranked in the top five on the team times list in the 50-free and both backstroke events.
In high school… 2016 graduate of Ellsworth High School in Maine where he was a 4-year letterman for head coach Jim Goodman… Member of the All-State Team for all four years of his high school career… Won six individual state titles in his career and five state titles in relay events… State champion in four events (50-free, 100-free, 200-medley relay and 400-freestyle relay) and was the Penobscot Valley Conference Swimmer-of-the-Year… Part of a state record that year in the 200-medley relay… Won four state titles as a junior (100-back, 100-fly, 200-medley relay, and 400-medley relay), and three as a sophomore (50-free, 100-free and 200-medley relay)… Had a pair of runner-up finishes at the state meet as a freshman (50-free and 200-medley relay)… Also competed in cross-country for two years as a freshman and sophomore, and in track & field as a freshman and sophomore… National Honor Society member as a junior and senior, and Academic All-American as a senior… Spent nine years competing with the Down East Family YMCA (DEFY) club program where he was coached by Matt Montgomery… In 2016, placed fourth at the YMCA Long Course Nationals in the 50-back, was 11th in the 100-back and 11th in the 50-fly… Finished 19th in the 50-free in 2016, and was 10th in 2015… Had an 11th place finish in the 50-free at the 2015 Short Course Nationals when he was also 21st in the 100-back… Personal… Son of Ben and Susan Hamilton… Has one younger sister (Sidney)… Favorite pro teams are the Boston Bruins (NHL), Green Bay Packers (NFL) and Golden State Warriors (NBA).
