    LAKELAND, FL - Nearly 100 Florida Southern College student-athletes, coaches, and athletics staff participated in the annual "Out of the Darkness" Community Walk around Lake Hollingsworth on Saturday to benefit the Central Florida chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

    MELBOURNE – With wins from Daniel Rodriguez, Matias Lopez, Dorian Bachlaj, and Miguel Bernotti, Florida Southern secured the team championship in the Panther Invitational Sunday and closed out the meet by taking nine of the 13 individual events overall.

    MELBOURNE – Florida Southern used a dominating performance in the 500-freestyle, led by winner Luka Planinc, and a win by Matias Lopez in the 200-IM to finish day one of the Panther Invitational in first place among the three teams competing.
  • Men's Swimming Team Ranked No. 10 in Latest CSCAA National Poll

    The College Swimming Coaches Association of America has released its mid-November national rankings and even with a shake-up in the poll, the Florida Southern men’s team remains in the top-10. The Moccasins head into their final two meets of the semester ranked No. 10, and are one of five Sunshine State Conference teams in the poll.
  • For the Second Week in a Row, Holmes is SSC Men’s Swimmer of the Week

    MELBOURNE, FL – For the second week in a row, and the third time in his career, Florida Southern’s Matthew Holmes is the Sunshine State Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week. The senior from Rockledge, Florida was the Moccasins’ top performer in their dual meet Saturday afternoon at Florida State, winning one race, placing second in another, and adding a third-place finish to his final line.
  • Breaststroke Swimmers Give Florida Southern Two Wins in Dual Meet at Florida State

    TALLAHASSEE – Breaststroke swimmers Matthew Holmes and Dorian Bachlaj gave Florida Southern two of its three individual wins, and Matias Lopez provided the other in the 200-backstroke to lead the Moccasins in their dual meet at Florida State.

    MELBOURNE, FL – Florida Southern’s Matthew Holmes is the Sunshine State Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week following a clean sweep for the senior in a dual meet victory at Tampa last Friday. Holmes won all three of his individual events and anchored a winning relay entry as the 7th-ranked Moccasins defeated No. 18 Tampa, 148-114.

    SAINT LEO, FLA. – Saint Leo jumped out to an early lead by winning the first two events before Matthew Holmes gave Florida Southern a win in the 200-free, and the 14th-ranked Lions went on to out-score the 7th-ranked Moccasins 163½-98½ on Saturday.

  • Robins Announces the Hiring of Kendal Casey as Florida Southern's New Assistant Swimming Coach

    LAKELAND, FLA. - Florida Southern College head swimming coach Andy Robins has announced the hiring of Kendal Casey as the Moccasins’ new assistant swimming coach. Casey joins the Florida Southern staff after a year as a volunteer assistant coach at Florida Atlantic University following her college career at the University of Kentucky where she earned All-SEC and honorable mention All-American honors for the Wildcats.
  • Season Begins for Nationally Ranked Swimming Teams this Weekend

    The 2018-19 season begins this weekend for the Florida Southern swimming teams as they begin their first year under new head coach Andy Robins with back-to-back dual meets Friday afternoon at Rollins and Saturday morning at Saint Leo. The men’s squad is coming off its seventh consecutive top-five finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships, while the women’s team placed 18th at last year’s national championship meet and has six top-15 finishes in the last eight years.

  • Florida Southern Announces Andy Robins as New Head Swimming Coach

    Florida Southern College Director of Athletics Pete Meyer has announced the hiring of Andy Robins as the Moccasins’ new swimming coach. Robins comes to Florida Southern with 23 years of college coaching experience and replaces former head coach Mike Blum, who joined the staff at the University of North Carolina in late July.
