MELBOURNE, FL – Six members of the Florida Southern men’s swimming team have been named All-Sunshine State Conference in a vote of league coaches. Among them are a league-high four swimmers on the All-SSC First Team: seniors Matthew Holmes and Luka Planinc, and sophomores Matias Lopez and Brandon Dyck. Earning Second Team All-SSC honors is freshman Cole Smith, and senior Nico Campbell was an honorable mention selection.
INDIANAPOLIS – Six members of the Florida Southern men’s swimming team have been selected for the NCAA Division II National Championships in Indianapolis at the IU Natatorium, March 13-16, and four additional Moccasins are making the trip as relay swimmers. Earning spots from Florida Southern are seniors Nico Campbell, Matthew Holmes, and Luka Planinc, and sophomores Miguel Bernotti, Brandon Dyck, and Matias Lopez. All six of those selections took part in last year’s national finals, and all of them brought home at least one individual All-American award.

CLEARWATER, FLA. – Florida Southern added two more gold medals to its league-leading total Sunday night with Luka Planinc winning the 1650-freestyle before Matthew Holmes won the 200-breaststroke to go 4-for-4 in the meet, leading the Moccasins to a third-place finish as a team.

CLEARWATER, FLA. – Matthew Holmes won his third gold medal of the 2019 SSC Men’s Swimming Championships, and Brandon Dyck joined him as an individual champion on Saturday. The Moccasins weren’t quite finished though as their 800-freestyle relay team set a new meet record in giving them another gold medal in the final race of the night.

The 2018-19 college swimming season has entered its final stages as the Sunshine State Conference Championships begin this Thursday in Clearwater where six men’s and seven women's teams will be competing at the Long Center for league titles and individual placements at the NCAA Championships in March.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Florida Southern swimming teams have been recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) in its annual list of Scholar All-America Teams. Announced on Tuesday (Jan. 22), the Moccasin men ranked 10th in the country at the Division II level with a 3.36 grade point average for the fall semester, and the women were tied for 12th with a 3.57. To be selected as a Scholar All-America Team, programs must achieve a GPA of 3.00 or higher for the semester being awarded.

400-Freestyle Relay Team Clinches Dual Meet Win over Indian River State in Final Regular Season Meet
LAKELAND, FL – A massive performance by senior distance swimmer Luka Planinc set 13th-ranked Florida Southern up for a six-point win over NJCAA National Champion Indian River State on Friday. Swimming in the final home meet of his career, Planinc won the 1,000 and 500 as an individual before anchoring the winning 400-freestyle relay team in a meet-clinching race that gave the Moccasins their 135½-126½ victory.
