NEW ORLEANS – Florida Southern, which placed third in the Florida State University Invitational last Friday, remains fifth in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Regional Poll released Tuesday. The Moccasins have been ranked in the top five in each of the five regional polls this season.
The top six teams in the regional poll remained unchanged. Lee is tops in the poll for a fifth consecutive week followed by Alabama-Huntsville, Saint Leo, Embry-Riddle, FSC, and Tampa.
Mississippi College, unranked last week, jumps into the top ten at number six followed by Christian Brothers, Florida Tech, and Montevallo, each of the three dropping one spot.
Florida Southern will not compete Friday at the University of South Florida Invitationals originally scheduled but will return to action at the Sunshine State Conference championship on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the South County Regional Park in Boca Raton, Florida
The USTFCCCA NCAA Division II region polls are released every week during the regular season. The poll ranks the Top 10 men's and women's cross country teams in each of the eight NCAA regions. Eight regional representatives coordinate the voting in their own region with input from the coaches.
