LAKELAND, FL - The Florida Southern College water ski team will kick off its fall season when it heads to Sunset Lakes in nearby Groveland, FL to square off against Rollins College on Saturday, Sept. 3.
The Moccasins enter 2016 after strong finishes at both the regional and national NCWSA competitions last year. Florida Southern finished second in last year's East Regionals to qualify for the national championships, where the team also finished second.
The performance marked FSC's highest-ever finish at the annual event as both the men's and women's teams combined for 11,965 points.
In addition, two skiers earned top five finishes at the 2015 National Championships. Thibault Dailand earned the nod as the top overall male skier by placing second in the slalom, fourth in the jumps and fifth in the tricks competitions. Lauren Morgan finished fifth overall on the women's side and was the top performer in the jumps competition.
Prior to its finish at the 2015 NCWSA National Championships, Florida Southern finished a close second to the University of Alabama at the NCWSA East Regional. The Mocs also topped Rollins College in their lone dual-competition of the year in 2015.
