MELBOURNE, FL - For the fourth time this season and the second-straight week, Florida Southern College women's basketball junior Anja Fuchs-Robetin has been named as the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Fuchs-Robetin, who also earned the award on Nov. 27, Jan. 8, and Feb. 5, helped lead the Mocs to a pair of wins last week to extend the team's winning streak to 13-straight.
Fuchs-Robetin averaged 11.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as the Moccasins took down Rollins and Florida Tech last week. FSC's 13-game winning streak since 1994-95, when the Mocs won a school-record 26 in a row. During the week, Fuchs-Robetin compiled 15 defensive rebounds and added three blocks (two against Rollins and one against Florida Tech).
In the victory over Rollins, she finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists to compile the fourth triple-double in program history and the first in more than 20 years. The latest Defensive Player of the Week honor is Fuchs-Robetin's sixth weekly conference award of the season. She was the SSC Player of the Week on Nov. 13 and Jan. 22. It is the eighth weekly SSC award for the Mocs this season, as Jensen Blassage (Jan. 15) and Camille Giardina (Feb. 5) have both been named as the SSC Player of the Week.
Florida Southern will square off with Lynn on Wednesday night and is off on Saturday before hosting Tampa on Feb. 21 for Senior Night.
