GREENWOOD, IN - Florida Southern College women's basketball standouts Jensen Blassage and Anja Fuchs-Robetin were named as CoSIDA Academic all-District selections, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday. Both players were named as first-team selections for their performances on the court and in the classroom.
Blassage, a three-time member of the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, is averaging 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game this season. In the classroom, the sports a 3.53 grade-point average as a business administration major. Fuchs-Robetin, a two-time SSC Commissioner's Honor roll selection who is nearly averaging a double-double with 18.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, has compiled a 3.92 GPA in exercise science.
In order to be eligible for selection to the Academic all-District squad, student-athletes must be a starter on important reserve, maintain a career GPA of at least 3.30, participated in at least 50 percent of their team's games, and be a sophomore in academic standing.
With their selections to the CoSIDA Academic all-District squad for District 5, Blassage and Fuchs Robetin are now eligible to earn the prestigious title of Academic all-America. The Academic all-America squad will be announced next month. Blassage and Fuchs-Robetin are two of five Academic all-District selections from Sunshine State Conference member institutions.
