JACKSON, TN - Florida Southern College women's basketball standouts Anja Fuchs-Robetin and Camille Giardina have been named as first team all-South Region selections by the D2 Conference Commissioner's Association, the D2CCA announced on Monday. With the honor, both players are now eligible to be selected as D2CCA all-Americans.
Fuchs-Robetin averaged 18.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game and was named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year and a first team all-SSC selection. She won two SSC Player of the Week and five SSC Defensive Player of the Week honors this season while joining the 1,000-point club at FSC in February.
Giardina averaged 19.9 points per game, 3.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.9 steals. She also earned first team all-conference honors and earned one SSC Player of the Week award this season. Florida Southern was just one of two teams who had multiple all-region honorees, but the only to have two first-team members.
