GREENWOOD, IN - Florida Southern College women's basketball standout Anja Fuchs-Robetin has been named as a third team CoSIDA Academic all-America selection, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced this week.
Fuchs-Robetin, a two-time SSC Commissioner's Honor roll selection and member of this year's academic all-district squad, averaged nearly a double-double this season with 18.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. She surpassed 1,000 career points earlier this year, led the Moccasins to a 25-5 record and Sunshine State Conference regular-seaosn and tournament titles.
She was a first team all-SSC selection this year and the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year, as well as a first team all-South Region selection by the Conference Commissioner's Association. Fuchs-Robetin carries a career GPA of 3.92 as an exercise science major.
In order to be eligible for selection to the Academic all-America squad, student-athletes must first earn first team academic all-district honors, be a starter or important reserve, maintain a career GPA of at least 3.30, participated in at least 50 percent of their team's games, and be a sophomore in academic standing.
Fuchs-Robetin is the first player in Florida Southern women's basketball history to earn CoSIDA Academic all-America honors.
