Fuchs-Robetin Chosen as Most Valuable Player for FSC Women's Basketball

Junior Anja Fuchs-Robetin has been chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the Florida Southern women's basketball team as selected by Moccasin head coach Betsy Harris.

The Vienna, Austria native averaged 18.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game for the Moccasins in 2017-18, helping lead the team to the Sunshine State Conference regular season and postseason championships. FSC also advanced to the NCAA postseason tournament this past season. Fuchs-Robetin shot 54.3 percent from the field and 83.6 percent from the free throw line and connected for 21 three-point shots.

Fuchs-Robetin capped her brilliant season by being named to the Honorable Mention All-America team by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. She also excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-American third-team honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America. Fuchs-Robetin was the 2017-18 Pat McFadden Award Winners as Florida Southern's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and received the FSC Athletic Director Scholar-Athlete Award for women's basketball.

In the Sunshine State Conference, Fuchs-Robetin was the league's Player of the Year and also earned All-SSC first-team recognition. She was named to the SSC All-Tournament team and was a seven-time SSC Player of the Week (two for her offense and five for her defensive efforts).

Florida Southern ended the 2017-18 season with a 25-5 overall record and a 17-3 mark in the Sunshine State Conference.
