CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. – Heading into NCAA postseason play, the Florida Southern women’s golf team is ranked 13th in the April 26 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) National Poll. Though the Moccasins slid two spots from their previous ranking they picked up 17 additional points in the poll, which is once again topped by Sunshine State Conference rival Barry.
MELBOURNE, FL – For the second year in a row, Florida Southern’s Amanda Gartrell has earned a spot on the All-Sunshine State Conference Women’s Golf Team. The junior from Lakeland, Florida was voted Second Team All-SSC in balloting among the league’s 11 head coaches.

Moccasins Close out SSC Women’s Golf Championships with Their Best Round of the Tournament; Gartrell Ties for Fourth
SAINT LEO – Florida Southern closed out the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Women’s Golf Championships with its best round of the tournament, holding its position in the team standings while junior Amanda Gartrell moved up two spots for another top-five finish. The Moccasins had a final-round 301 to finish eighth as a team, and Gartrell shot a final-round 71 to tie for fourth individually.
Gartrell’s 72 Leads Florida Southern to Eight-Shot Improvement on Day Two of SSC Women’s Golf Championships
SAINT LEO – Amanda Gartrell’s 72 on Monday was Florida Southern’s top score, and Madi Wetzel added a 75 as the Moccasins cut eight shots off their team total on day two of the Sunshine State Conference Women’s Golf Championships. The 11th-ranked Moccasins are in eighth place in the team standings with Gartrell tied for sixth individually.
Three Mocs 13th or Higher in First Round of the SSC Women’s Golf Championships; Mocs Tied for Seventh as a Team
SAINT LEO, FL – With Amanda Gartrell shooting a 75, and Loren Perez and Tori Higgins each shooting a 76, Florida Southern finished day one of the Sunshine State Conference Women’s Golf Championship tied for seventh place. The 11th-ranked Moccasins had a team score of 310 (+22), with No. 3 Nova Southeastern setting the pace at +7.
The Florida Southern women’s golf team opens play in the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Championships on Sunday as the Moccasins and 10 other teams descend on the south course at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Saint Leo for the three-round, 54-hole tournament. It’s the seventh time the SSC Championships have been held at Lake Jovita, and Saint Leo University is this year’s host school.

NAVARRE, FL – Amanda Gartrell came from two shots down with one round remaining to win the 2019 Argonaut Invitational by two shots, and with top-20 finishes by Shelby Lewis and Loren Perez, 13th-ranked Florida Southern finished third in its final tournament of the regular season.
