MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse midfielder Emily Santoli has been named as the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Santoli scored 10 goals and dished out six assist in three games last week, helping lead the Moccasins to a 3-0 record and extend the team's win streak to eight games.
She scored three goals, including the game-winner, and tallied two assists in the 21-10 win over Bloomsburg. Santoli exploded for five goals and an assists in a 15-4 thrashing of No. 16 Indiana (PA), and finished the week with two goals and three assists in a victory against Seton Hill.
On the season, Santoli has scored 21 goals and dished out 12 assists. She has scored multiple goals in five different games this season. She also finished last week with seven ground balls, nine draw controls four caused turnovers, and was 3-of-6 on free-position shots.
Santoli also earned SSC Offensive Player of the Week on April 11 of last year. She joins teammate Kendall Kerge (Feb. 20) as the two Moccasins to earn the Offensive Player of the Week award this year. Overall, Florida Southern has had four SSC weekly award winners, including Defensive Player of the Week honorees Dani Bursinger (March 13) and Taylor Gillis (Feb. 20).
Overall, the Moccasins have won 14 SSC Defensive Player of the Week and 13 Offensive Player of the week awards since the league began sponsoring women's lacrosse in 2015.
Florida Southern opens conference play on Saturday at Saint Leo, before hosting Florida Tech in its first SSC home game on April 1.
