    MELBOURNE, FL – Florida Southern College has won the 2017-18 men’s and women’s Sunshine State Conference Mayors’ Cups. The wins mark the 10th time an institution has won both Mayors’ Cups in the same academic year.
  • 76 Moccasins Named to Fall SSC Honor Roll

    MELBOURNE, Fla. - A total of 651 student-athletes, inlcuding 76 from Florida Southern College, have been named to the 2017 Fall Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll; it was announced Wednesday, March 7th by Commissioner Ed Pasque. A total of 142 student-athletes carried a perfect 4.00 grade-point average for the fall semester.
  • Guida Voted to Academic All-American Women's Soccer Team

    Florida Southern center back Juliana Guida has been selected to the 2017 Division II Women's Soccer Academic All-America Team, which honors student-athletes who have the best combination of athletic and academic success. The senior from Bradenton, Florida recently completed her career as a 4-year starter on the Moccasins’ back line and is now the third Academic All-American in team history.

    Head women's soccer coach Paul Lawrence has announced the Florida Southern College Women's Soccer ID Camp for players in grades 9-12 will be held on Sunday, February 11 on the FSC campus.
  • Moberley Named to United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Team

    Florida Southern’s Alexa Moberley has been selected to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Women’s Soccer Team voted upon by coaches throughout the region. The sophomore forward from Jupiter, Florida finished among the SSC leaders in goals and points this season and is the Moccasins’ first all-region selection in the last three seasons.

  • School Record Four Moccasins Named to Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team

    Last year Juliana Guida was the lone Moccasin on the Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team but this year she has plenty of company. While Guida made the team for the second year in a row, teammates Helena Norrstrom, Jess Goedde and Anna Griessler are all first-time selections, giving Florida Southern a total of four on the Academic All-District Team. That’s the most in team history, and tied for the most for any school in any region this year.
  • Moccasins Land Three on All-SSC Women’s Soccer Team

    MELBOURNE, FL – Florida Southern landed three players on the 2017 All-Sunshine State Conference Women’s Soccer Team announced by the league office Thursday, November 2. All three were second team selections, with forwards Anna Griessler and Alexa Moberley, and defender Juliana Guida making the All-SSC Team for the first time in their careers.
  • Florida Southern Women's Soccer Team Hosts SSC Quarterfinal Game Tonight

    Florida Southern opens play in the 2017 Sunshine State Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament tonight by squaring off against Florida Tech in the quarterfinal round. The Moccasins enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed, with the Panthers seeded No. 6. The winner advances to the semifinal round to take on No. 2 seed Barry on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Both semifinal games on Friday and the championship game on Sunday are being hosted by top-seeded Nova Southeastern.
  • Bounce Back Season for Florida Southern Women's Soccer Team Ends with 2-1 Loss to Florida Tech in SSC Quarterfinals

    AUBURNDALE – In a back and forth game that all of the scoring come in the second, Florida Tech used a free kick and a corner kick, sandwiched around a long-distance goal by Anna Griessler to come away with a 2-1 victory over Florida Southern in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday night.
  • Moccasins and Knights Combine for 10 Goals in the Rain as FSC Women's Soccer Team Ties Lynn 5-5

    BOCA RATON – Ten goals went up on the board in the regular season finale for Florida Southern, and with half of them going to each team, the Moccasins ended it with a 5-5 tie at Lynn on Saturday night. With rain falling throughout the night, the game was stopped after the first overtime period due to unplayable field conditions brought on by rain from Tropical Storm Philippe.

    AUBURNDALE, FL – Barry scored two goals three minutes apart in the first half, and though an own goal by the Buccaneers early in the second gave Florida Southern life, the Moccasins were unable to score after that and dropped a 2-1 decision that ended their nine-game unbeaten streak.
  • Women's Soccer Team Now No. 7 in NCAA South Region Rankings

    Week two of the NCAA regional rankings have several teams moving up or down in the South, with Florida Southern falling one spot into seventh heading into the final week of the regular season. (With the rankings conducted earlier in the week, the poll released on October 25 does not take into account Wednesday night’s results.) The regional rankings are used to determine selections for the NCAA Tournament, with six teams from each of the eight geographical regions in Division II earning bids.

Combined with other results from around the Sunshine State Conference, the win clinched a spot in the SSC Tournament for the Moccasins.

    The first NCAA Division II South Region ranking has been released and the Florida Southern Moccasins are sixth in the poll used to determine selections for the NCAA Tournament in November. Six teams will be selected from each of the eight geographical regions in Division II, putting Florida Southern in one of those spots as of October 18.

    MELBOURNE, FL - For the second week in a row, and the third time this year, a Florida Southern women’s soccer player has been named a Sunshine State Conference Player-of-the-Week. The October 9 edition of those awards has senior goalkeeper Helena Norrstrom earning the league’s Defensive Player-of-the-Week award for the first time in her career.

    AUBURNDALE, FL - Helena Norrstrom made 11 saves and Florida Southern College women's soccer battled back from a pair of one-goal deficits to earn a 2-2 draw against No. 13 Nova Southeastern on Saturday night at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. The Moccasins (6-1-2, 3-1-1 SSC) fell behind early as the Sharks (8-1-1, 4-0-1) scored the first goal of the mathc just over a minute into the first half, but the Mocs answered each NSU goal an held on in double overtime to stay in second place in the Sunshine State Conference standings.
  • Soccer Teams Again Claim National Academic Honors

    For the sixth year in a row, both Florida Southern soccer teams have been honored by the United Soccer Coaches as having one of the top academic programs in the country. The men’s team has now won the United Soccer Coaches (formerly the NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 11th consecutive year, and the women have been on the list for the last six years. The women were ranked No. 7 among all Division II schools with a team GPA of 3.62, and the men were tied for 18th with a 3.29 GPA. The award covers the full 2016-17 academic year.
  • Moberley Does it Again: Sophomore Forward Scores Two More Goals in 2-0 Win Over Florida Tech

    AUBURNDALE, FL – Coming into the first week of October, Alexa Moberley had yet to tally a goal this season, though the sophomore forward had been a big part of the team’s early success and was leading the Moccasins in assists. Four days and two games into the new month, Moberley has now put four goals on the board, with two of them coming Wednesday night in Florida Southern’s 2-0 win over Florida Tech.

    TAMPA, FL – Chloe Hamm scored Florida Southern’s first goal of the night for the second game in a row, and this time it turned out to be the only one the Moccasins needed. The freshman from Los Alamitos, California put the Mocs ahead a little over five minutes into the game as Florida Southern went on to a 1-0 win over Tampa Saturday night.
  • Women's Soccer Team Comes From Behind Again for 2-1 Win Over Valdosta State

    AUBURNDALE, FL – For the second time in the last five nights, Florida Southern came from behind for a 2-1 win, but this time it didn’t take overtime. Chloe Hamm and Anna Griessler each scored goals in the first half after Valdosta State had scored first, and a big defensive effort by center back Gaelyn Crowder helped the Moccasins pull out the win in their first home game of 2017.

    With the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex not yet ready to host a match following Hurricane Irma the Florida Southern women’s soccer game against Rollins College scheduled for Wednesday night in Auburndale has been moved to Rollins College in Winter Park. That game will now be played as part of a doubleheader with the Florida Southern men’s soccer match that was already scheduled for Wednesday night at Rollins.

We are still waiting for power to come on in Colony Arms Apartments, Roberts Academy, and a few FSC houses surrounding the campus. We will continue to communicate updates as they become available and will accommodate any student who lives in one of these locations if power is still not restored when they return to campus.
