    Four Women's Swimmers Picked to Compete at NCAA Division II National Finals INDIANAPOLIS - Four Florida Southern women’s swimmers have been selected for the NCAA Division II National Finals, with returning veterans Peyton Breault, Haley DeGrace and Krystal Karas being joined this year by first-time qualifier Jacinda Whittenburg. The National Finals are being held in Birmingham, Alabama, March 8-11 at the CrossPlex as part of the Division II Winter Sports Festival.

    List of Potential NCAA Qualifiers Grows for Third-Place Moccasins on Day One of SSC Women’s Swimming Championships ORLANDO, FL – The first day of the 2017 Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships saw Florida Southern add three new names to the list of potential NCAA qualifiers in the 50-freestyle, one swimmer give the Moccasins their first provisional time of the season in the 200-individual medley, and a freshman in a new role help one of their relay teams improve its chances of qualifying for the national finals.

    SSC Women's Swimming Championships Get Underway Thursday in Orlando The 2017 Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships begin Thursday at the Orlando YMCA, and the Florida Southern Moccasins go into the meet as the defending league champions after winning their first SSC title in 2016. Sitting at No. 19, the Mocs are one of four SSC teams in the final regular CSCAA national poll, with only Nova Southeastern ahead of them.

    Women's Swimming Team Ranked 19th in Final Regular Season CSCAA Division II National Poll In the final regular season poll of the season conducted by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, Florida Southern has jumped two spots to No. 19, giving the Moccasins their highest national ranking of the year. Since opening the year at No. 25, the Mocs have moved up in each of the three subsequent polls.

    Swimming Teams Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Award The Florida Southern swimming teams have been honored by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America for their academic performance during the fall semester. Both the men and women finished the first semester this season with grade point averages over 3.00 and were ranked among the top-25 teams in Division II for team GPA, earning them the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Award.

    Whittenburg Selected as SSC Women's Swimmer-of-the-Week Florida Southern’s Jacinda Whittenburg is this week’s Sunshine State Conference Women’s Swimmer-of-the-Week after picking up a pair of individual wins against Division III top-ranked Emory on January 7. The junior from Lakewood, Colorado also had a narrow runner-up finish in another individual race, marking the second time this year she’s had two firsts and one second in a meet.

    Whittenburg Wins Twice as No. 21 Moccasins Begin Second Semester with Setback to D-III Top-Ranked Emory LAKELAND – Junior Jacinda Whittenburg picked up a pair of individual wins and had a narrow second-place finish in another race, while Emory had three swimmers pick up multiple individual wins to lift the Eagles to a 173-86 win over the Moccasins. It was the first race of the new semester for the 21st-ranked Moccasins and it came against the seven-time defending Division III national champions.

    FSC Women's Swimming Team Now No. 21 in Third CSCAA National Poll of the Season The Florida Southern women’s swimming team will go into Christmas break ranked No. 21 in the country according to the latest NCAA Division II rankings released by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. The December 21 poll had the Moccasins up one spot from where they were in the November rankings while the same teams that were ranked in the top-10 a month ago are still in the top-10, albeit in a slightly different order.

    Relay Teams Lead Florida Southern Women's Swimming Team on First Day of Spartan Invitational CLEARWATER, Fla. – The 2016 Spartan Invitational got underway Friday night at the Long Center, and behind their 200-medley and 200-freestyle relay teams, and season-best performance by distance swimmers Madi Rowan and Riley McClendon, Florida Southern finished day one in fourth place among the six teams competing. Tampa, the host school for the 4-day meet, has a 4-point lead over Nova Southeastern, followed by Indian River State and Florida Southern.

    Women's Swimming Team Returns to Action This Weekend at Spartan Invitational in Clearwater The Florida Southern men's swimming team returns to action this weekend when it travels to Clearwater for the University of Tampa Spartan Invitational. The 4-day event is being held at the Doyle Aquatic Center at the Long Center, located at 1501 North Belcher Road and runs from Friday through Monday. Similar to the format used at the conference and national tournaments in the spring, the Spartan Invitational will feature 19 different events, with preliminaries during the morning sessions and finals in those events each night.

    Women's Swimming Team Moves up in CSCAA National Rankings The Florida Southern women’s swimming team has moved up three spots in the second College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) national poll that was announced on November 16. The Moccasins are now No. 22, with No. 4 Nova Southeastern the only Sunshine State Conference team ahead of them.

    Breault Selected as the SSC Women's Swimmer-of-the-Week for November 7 MELBOURNE, Fla. - Florida Southern junior Peyton Breault has been named the Sunshine State Conference Women’s Swimmer-of-the-Week following her performance in the Moccasins’ quad meet on November 4 and 5 at Florida Gulf Coast University. The Moccasins were competing against the host Eagles, Florida State University and the University of West Florida. Breault is the first Moccasin to pick up a weekly award from the SSC this season.

    Top-10 Finishes by DeGrace and Whittenburg Lead Mocs on Second Day of FGCU Quad Meet FORT MYERS, Fla. – Led by top-10 finishes from Haley DeGrace and Jacinda Whittenburg in the 100-breaststroke, Florida Southern wrapped up the 2-day quad meet hosted by Florida Gulf Coast with its best times of the season in all eight events held on Saturday, with a fourth-place finish from its 200-freestyle relay team the Mocs’ top performance of the day. Florida State won all three of its head-to-head battles with Florida Southern, West Florida and Florida Gulf Coast, with FGCU defeating FSC and West Florida, and West Florida posting a win over FSC.

The Moccasins are one of four Sunshine State Conference teams in the top-25, a poll topped by Drury (MO). Nova Southeastern is the highest ranked team from the SSC, tied for #3.

The Moccasins defeated the Panthers 317-166, and the first-year Seahawks team 365-66.

    New Season Begins This Friday for FSC Women's Swimming Team The Florida Southern swimming teams begin their 2016-17 season this weekend as the Moccasins make the short trip to Tampa to face the University of Tampa in a dual meet Friday night at 6 p.m. With Florida Southern’s original season-opener against Nova Southeastern postponed by Hurricane Matthew, it means the Moccasins and Spartans will be squaring off against each other in their first dual meet of the season for the 13th year in a row.
