Whittenburg Named Women's Swim Team MVP

Jacinda Whittenburg has been named the Most Valuable Player for Moccasin women's swim team by Florida Southern head coach, Mike Blum.

Whittenburg was the team leader in individual wins this year with nine, and had at least one win in four different events. The junior from Lakewood, Colorado had five of those wins in either the 200-IM or 400-IM as she posted the Mocs' top times in both races, was an NCAA qualifier in both them too, and set the school record in the 400-IM this year.

She was also part of the 800-freestyle relay that set a school record with a time of 7:31.46 that surpassed the Mocs' previous season best mark by more than four seconds. Whittenburg and her teammates earned Honorable Mention All-America honors for the efforts.

Whittenburg was also named to the All-Sunshine State Conference first team and was named the SSC Swimmer of the Week for Jan. 9. She was also named to the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
