LEWISBURG, PA - Addison Cantor made her debut run in the 10,000-meter event a memorable one by turning in the second fastest time for any freshman runner in NCAA Division II women's track this season as members of the Florida Southern women's track competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic here at the Christy-Mathewson Memorial Stadium on the campus of Bucknell University. Cantor turned in a 37:12.65 time to place 25th overall. Earlier this season, she recorded the 19th fastest time for any freshman in the 5,000-meter at the Pepsi Florida Relays with a time of 17:39.65 on March 29.
Cantor's time in Saturday's 10K shattered the FSC school record by 2:42.89, besting the previous mark of 39:55.54 set earlier this season by fellow freshman Stephanie Hansen at the USF Bulls Invitational.
Hannah Nelson, feeling somewhat under the weather, placed 43rd in the 5,000-meter with a 19:25.73, while Aleksa Guerra, also felling ill could not finish the same event. Hannah Flemming was entered in the 1500, but pulled up short with a hamstring injury.
Florida Southern is slated to compete next at the North Florida Invitational in Jacksonville on April 27.
