  • Mocs Push Home Win Streak to 22 in 3-2 Victory Over ERAU

    LAKELAND, FL - Three different players tallied double-digit kill totals and Florida Southern College volleyball overcame a pesky Embry-Riddle squad to pick up a 3-2 victory on Friday at Jenkins Field House. The Moccasins (7-6, 2-3 SSC) extended their home winning streak to a whopping 22-straight matches and snapped a three-game skid in Sunshine State Conference play with the win over the Eagles (8-4, 2-3). Early on, it appeared the Mocs would roll to the win after taking the first two sets, but ERAU won sets three and four to force a winner-take-all fifth set.

    MIAMI SHORES, FL - Florida Southern College volleyball was unable to upend undefeated Barry University on Saturday, falling 3-0 at the Health and Sports Center. The Moccasins (6-6, 1-3 SSC) suffered their third-straight loss in Sunshine State Conference action, while the Buccaneers (12-0, 4-0) remained perfect both in SSC action and overall.

    BOCA RATON, FL - Despite holding a 2-1 lead after three sets, Florida Southern College volleyball was unable to close things out in a 3-2 road loss at Sunshine State Conference rival Lynn on Friday night at the de Hoernle Center. The Moccasins (6-5, 1-2 SSC) went up by a set after a thrilling 26-24 victory in the third but the Fighting Knights (7-3, 1-2) used a 25-15 win in the fourth set to take back momentum and never trailed in the fifth and final set, willing by a 15-9 final.

    LEXINGTON, KY - Florida Southern College volleyball senior Nicole Mattson has been named as the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Tuesday afternoon. Mattson helped lead the Moccasins to a perfect 4-0 record at least weekend's Terrace Hotel Classic, including a win over then No. 4 Ferris State.

    LAKELAND, FL - Nicole Mattson posted a career-best 32 kills and Bethany Besancenez added a season-high 58 assists as Florida Southern College volleyball battle back from a 2-1 deficit to top visiting Eckerd, 3-2, in its Sunshine State Conference opener on Tuesday night at Jenkins Field House. The No. 21 Moccasins (6-3, 1-0 SSC) were forced to win two sets in extra points against the pesky Tritons (5-3, 0-1) to snag FSC's sixth-straight win and avoid its first home loss of the year.

    WARRENSBURG, MO - Florida Southern College volleyball suffered a pair of setbacks on the opening day of the season at the Peggy Martin Challenge on Friday. The No. 4 Moccasins (0-2) were topped by Truman State (1-0) by a 3-1 final in the first match of the day and were on the losing end of a 3-0 score against Drury (2-1) in the final match of the day. Florida Southern will face No. 22 Central Missouri (2 p.m.) and Missouri Southern State (6 p.m.) tomorrow to close out the season-opening tournament.

The Moccasins finished last season ranked No. 2 in the final AVCA Coaches Poll of the season after finishing as the national runners-up at the 2017 NCAA Division II Volleyball Championships.

    MELBOURNE, Fla. - A total of 651 student-athletes, inlcuding 76 from Florida Southern College, have been named to the 2017 Fall Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll; it was announced Wednesday, March 7th by Commissioner Ed Pasque. A total of 142 student-athletes carried a perfect 4.00 grade-point average for the fall semester.

    PENSACOLA, FL - The magical run for Florida Southern College volleyball ended on Saturday night as it fell to defending national champion Concordia-St. Paul, 3-0, in the NCAA Division II National Championship match at UWF Field House. The No. 21 Moccasins (30-7) hung tough with the No. 3 Golden Bears (34-3) all night, but were unable to slow down a blistering offensive attack by the Golden Bears, who won their second-straight national title and their ninth in the last 11 years.
