LAKELAND, Fla. - Due to the change in the track of Hurricane Dorian, several home athletic events previously canceled at Florida Southern College have been rescheduled for their original times and dates. At this time, the campus will close on Tuesday and reopen on Wednesday. Classes at the College have been canceled for the week. Below is the complete listing of rescheduled events with their times.
The Moccasin men's soccer team will still travel to Alabama for away matches at Montevallo (Sept. 6) and Spring Hill (Sept. 8). Florida Southern women's soccer will open its season on Friday at 7 p.m. against Shorter and will face Georgia College at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Those matches could be moved to Bryant Stadium depending on conditions at Moccasin Field later in the week. The women's soccer match against Valdosta State, scheduled for Sept. 5 at 7 p.m., has been postponed and could be made up later in the year.
The Terrace Hotel Volleyball Classic, which will feature matches between Florida Southern, Concordia-St. Paul, Hillsdale, Central Missouri and Indiana (Pa.) are now back on as scheduled. The Holloway Park Preseason Festival for men's and women's cross country will not be rescheduled or made up. Fans are reminded that another change in Dorian's track could mean additional changes to the schedules later in the week.
