Another former Moccasin who went on to a career in professional sports was baseball player Terry Gilmore (1983-87), a Second Team All-American as a sophomore and First Team All-American as a senior. Gilmore put together one of the best seasons any Moccasin pitcher has ever had in 1985, going 11-0 to help Florida Southern win the National Championship. He finished his Florida Southern career with 32 wins to rank second in team history. Already a member of the Florida Southern Baseball and the Sunshine State Conference Halls of Fame, Gilmore was drafted by the San Diego Padres and advanced all the way to the AAA level in his pro career.
