CHICAGO - Florida Southern College men's basketball senior Slinky Jones has been selected as one of 16 participants for the 2019 Dark Horse Dunker Competition. The contest features 16 of the nation's best "under-the-radar" dunkers in an online voting contest which sends the winner to the 2019 College Slam Dunk Championship in Minneapolis during the week of the NCAA Division I men's Final Four.
Jones is the first Moccasin to ever earn a spot in the Dark Horse Dunker Competition, and fans can vote once per-day, per-device at www.DarkHorseDunker.com. The competition is a four-week, bracket-style contest that allows fans to vote for their favorite contestant, with the winner earning the final spot at the College Slam Dunk Championship. Fans can only vote once per calendar day, but can vote as soon as the clock hits midnight the next day.
Voting for the round of 16 one takes place from Feb. 19-26, quarterfinals from Feb. 27-March 6, semifinals from March 7-14, and finals from March 15-22. One of the most electric dunkers in the Sunshine State Conference, Jones has the unique chance to represent Division II men's basketball on a national stage - so remember to #Vote4Slinky!
