LAKELAND, Fla. - Throughout the month of July, Florida Southern College Athletics will release its list of team MVPs for the 2018-19 season. Each MVP was selected by the team's head coach, and the list includes some of the top student-athletes in the country. Florida Southern men's basketball head coach Mike Donnelly has named former Moccasin student-athlete Jonathan Lawton as the teams 2019 team MVP. Lawton was the SSC Player of the Year on the men's side and earned all-America accolades from the NABC, D2CCA, DII Bulletin, and Basketball Times. He was also the D2CCA South Region Player of the Year and was a finalist for the Bevo Francis Award, given annually to the top collegiate men's basketball player in the nation at the DII, DIII or NAIA levels.
