Mocs Slip To Fifth After Day Two Of Southeastern Collegiate

VALDOSTA, Ga. - After sharing the first-round lead with scores of 291, the Moccasins and host Valdosta State saw their scores go in opposite directions in Monday's second round here at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

The Moccasins had a second-round score of 300 that dropped them into fifth place in the 18-team field. Valdosta State fired a 285 Monday to claim the lead with a two-day total of 576. Barry is second at 587, followed by Armstrong Atlantic at 588, North Alabama at 589 and the Moccasins at 591.

FSC's Matt Stauch and Shelton Smith, who were part of a three-way tie for the lead after the opening round, dropped out of the top spot after Monday's round. Stauch shot a 73 and is tied for fourth at 144, two strokes behind co-leaders Chelsey Gunn of Valdosta State and Armstrong Atlantic's Jacob Tilton. Smith's 77 put him in a tie for 14th with a 148. Jude Eustaquio also is tied for 14th after his second-round score of 73.

Danny Evelyn is tied for 34th at 151 and Tobin Dunigan is tied for 74 at 159.

The final round of the tournament is Tuesday.
