DAVIE - With a 16-stroke improvement from round one to round two, the Moccasins are tied for second after two rounds of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament held here at the Grande Oaks Golf Club.
The Moccasins were sixth after a first-round score of 289, but came back with a second-round score of 273 to finish the day at 562, tied with Nova Southeastern just three strokes behind first-place Barry, which finished the day at 559.
Three Moccasins had scores under 70 in the second round. Jude Eustaquio shot a four-under-par 67 to finish the day at 137 in third place, three behind individual leader Carlos Velez of Barry. Shelton Smith had a second-round 69 and is tied for fifth at 139. Matt Stauch matched Eustaquio's 67 in the second round and is tied for seventh at 140.
Danny Evelyn rebounded from a first-round 77 with a one-under par 70 in round two to finish the day tied for 28th at 147. Peter Creighton is tied for 36th after shooting a 151 for the day.
The final round of the tounament will be played Tuesday.
