Men's Lacrosse Tabbed No. 2 in SSC Preseason Coaches Poll

MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse finished in a three-way tie for second place in the Sunshine State Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the conference office announced on Friday. The Moccasins received 33 points to tie with Florida Tech and Saint Leo, while Tampa was picked to win its fifth SSC title with 49 points and seven first-place votes.

Saint Leo received the remaining first-place vote, and the poll was rounded out by Rollins (5th - 29 pts.), Lynn (6th-27 points) and first-year programs Palm Beach Atlantic (7th - 12 pts.) and Embry-Riddle (8th - 8 pts.).

Florida Southern kicks off the regular season on Feb. 23 at Belmont Abbey. The Mocs return four all-conference selections and one all-American from last year's squad in Kevin Dyer, Jeff Phelps, Austen Lison, and Adam Utter. Lison was a USILA third-team all-America selection and a second-team all-SSC honoree. Dyer and Utter were SSC all-freshman selections a year ago, while Phelps earned honorable mention accolades.
