Miller Falls in Championship Match at C.L. Varner Tourney

WINTER PARK, FL - Blaine Miller advanced to the championship match in Flight E of singles play at the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational on Saturday here on the Rollins College campus. Miller made it to the finals with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win over Rollin's Eric Scarlett, but fell, 6-2, 6-3 to Salvador Bolanos of Rollins in the championship match.

Matt Matsuyama and Miguel Alvarez-Hevia defeated Atakan Gezer and Ziad Melhaoui of Rollins, 8-3, to win the backdraw of Flight A in doubles.

In the backdraw of Flight A of the singles competition, Alvaro Arias lost, 6-4, 6-1 to Flagler's Rasmus Jonnson.

In the Flight B backdraw, Alvarez-Hevia won by default over Ziad Melhaoui of Rollins and Tim Becker defeated Victor Appelqvist of Eckerd, 6-3, 6-0 to both advance to the finals.

In backdraw of Flight C, Matsuyama advanced when Saint Leo's Francisco Aparacio defaulted due to injury and then fell, 6-3, 6-2 to Francesco Racanelli of Rollins.
