Men's Cross Country Remains Sixth in Regional Poll

NEW ORLEANS – For the third consecutive week, the Florida Southern men's cross country team finds itself ranked sixth in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Region Poll released Tuesday.

The men were idle this past weekend after placing second at the FSU Invitational on Oct. 2. The squad gets back in action this Friday, Oct. 16 at the USF Invitational at The Claw, the University of South Florida's golf course in Tampa. That will be the final regular season meet before the Sunshine State Conference Championships, Saturday, Oct. 24, at Lakeland's Holloway Park and Nature Preserve. The Moccasins hosted their own meet on Sept. 25 at the same park and placed third of the nine teams.

Lee (TN) reclaimed its top spot in the regional rankings, while last week's number team, Saint Leo, dropped to second place. Nova Southeastern jumped up two spots to take over the number three spot.

The USTFCCCA NCAA Division II region polls are released every week during the regular season. The poll ranks the Top 10 men's and women's cross country teams in each of the eight NCAA regions. Eight regional representatives coordinate the voting in their own region with input from the coaches.
