O'Brien Earns Division II Offensive Player of the Week Honors

GRAND LAKE, CO - After an electrifying performance with nine goals and eight assists, Florida Southern College women's lacrosse junior Meghan O'Brien has been named as the Division II Offensive Player of the Week by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

O'Brien started off the week with a goal and four assists in a 23-10 win over Young Harris on Monday and followed that up with a pair of four-goal performances in wins over No. 10 Queens (15-6) and No. 9 Mercy (19-12). She also had one assist in the victory over Queens and three more in the win against Mercy. O'Brien was extremely efficient on offense, scoring on nine of 12 total shot attempts, 11 of which came on goal.

The victories helped Florida Southern stay perfect on the season (8-0) while extending its regular-season win streak to 23-straight games, including a 19-game home winning streak.

O'Brien's is the third different player in Moccasin history to win an IWLCA Player of the Week honor, joining teammate Dani Bursinger (Offensive - 3/15/17) and former FSC goalkeeper Taylor Gillis (Defensive - 4/5/17)

Florida Southern is back in action tonight against McKendree and opens SSC action on March 24 at Florida Tech.
