  • Quaempts Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District® Honors for Second-Straight Year

    Greenwood, Ind. - Florida Southern College women's soccer senior defender Caitlin Quaempts was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® team announced on Thursday for the second-straight year. As a senior, Quaempts started in 12 of her 13 games played and recorded a goal and an assist as a prominent member of a Moccasin defense that shutout the opposition six times in 2019.

    LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College women's soccer closed out the 2019 season with a dominating 4-0 victory at the University of Tampa on Wednesday night. Sophomore Cali Larson knocked home a pair of goals for the Mocs (5-8-2, 2-6-2 SSC). Freshman Jenny Staten held the Spartans (5-8-1, 5-4-1 SSC) scoreless for 90 minutes for her fifth clean sheet of the season. 
  • Women's Soccer Drops a 2-1 Contest at Saint Leo

    LAKELAND, Fla. – Caitlin Quaempts tied the match up in the 59th but Florida Southern College women's soccer fell 2-1 at Saint Leo on Saturday night. Jenny Staten made a career-high eight shots on the night for the Mocs (4-8-2, 1-6-2 SSC) but the Lions (6-9-1, 3-6-0 SSC) put home the game-winning goal in the 67th minute.
  • Mocs Concede Early Goal in 2-0 Loss at Embry-Riddle

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer conceded an early goal to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in a 2-0 loss on Wednesday night in Daytona Beach. The Mocs (4-7-2, 1-5-2 SSC) were able to limit the Eagles (8-3-1, 6-1-1 SSC) to just a single goal in each half. Jenny Staten recorded three saves for the fifth time this season.
  • Mocs Drop Saturday Makeup Match to Barry

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer dropped its final home match of the 2019 season to Barry University on Saturday afternoon. In a match that featured 85 minutes of scoreless action and roughly a 75-minute weather delay, the Mocs (4-6-2, 1-4-2 SSC) were able to keep the hold pace against a very potent Buccaneer (6-6-0, 5-2-0 SSC) offense. In the 86th minute, Sophia Sharos was able to knock one past Jenny Staten.

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer earned its first Sunshine State Conference victory of 2019 with a 1-0 win over Eckerd College on Wednesday night. Senior Alexa Moberley made her senior night one to remember as she put the Mocs (4-5-2, 1-3-2 SSC) up 1-0 in the 66th minute over the visiting Tritons (5-6-1, 1-5-1 SSC).

  • Florida Southern Places in Top-10 Percent of Division II With Academic Success Rate of 90 Percent

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Florida Southern College athletics continues to promote student-athlete success in the classroom as the department earned a Division II Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90 for the 2012 cohort, the NCAA released on Wednesday. The 90 percent mark is tied for the highest mark that the department has ever earned, with the previous record set during the 2010 six-year cohort.

  • Florida Southern Ends Scoring Drought in Double Overtime Draw with Florida Tech

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer ended a scoring drought that spanned more than five matches as they finished in a 1-1 double-overtime draw with Florida Tech. The Mocs (3-5-2, 0-3-2 SSC) picked up another point in the Sunshine State Conference standings. The Panthers (2-7-2, 0-4-1) opened the scoring late in the first half.

  • Florida Southern Soccer Programs Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for Eighth Consecutive Year

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Florida Southern College men's and women's soccer have earned their eighth consecutive United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards. United Soccer Coaches have announced the Team Academic Award winners to recognize exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year. A total of 995 college teams (346 men, 649 women) earned the Team Academic Award. Florida Southern was one of 258 schools who had both their men's and women's programs among the recipients.
  • Moccasins Play to a Scoreless Draw At Lynn

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer picked up a point in the Sunshine State Conference standings with a 0-0 draw at Lynn University on Saturday night. The Mocs (3-4-1, 0-3-1) fired off a season-high 18 shots on the night and limited the Fighting Knights (3-4-2, 0-2-2) to just ten shots in the four frames. This marked the Mocs third consecutive match to head to overtime and just the second to reach a second overtime this season. 
  • Florida Southern Holds High-Scoring Nova Southeastern to One Goal in Overtime Loss

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer dropped it's second Sunshine State Conference home match of the week. Florida Southern's defense kept a high scoring Nova Southeastern University offense to a scoreless 90 minutes. The Mocs (3-4, 0-2 SSC) had quality chances to gain an edge over the Sharks (7-0, 2-0) before they fired home a header shot off of a corner kick for a 1-0 victory.
  • Florida Southern Suffers First Home Loss of 2019 to No. 23 Rollins

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer dropped it's Sunshine State Conference home opener to No. 23 Rollins in overtime. The Mocs (3-4, 0-2 SSC) held a nationally ranked team scoreless for 94 minutes before the Tars (4-2, 1-0) fired home a penalty shot for the game-winner.  
  • Florida Southern Falls at Palm Beach Atlantic in SSC Opener

    WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer opened the Sunshine State Conference portion of its schedule with a 1-0 loss at Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday evening. The Mocs (3-3, 0-1 SSC) dominated the corners as they had 11 more than the Sailfish (4-1, 1-0). 
  • Moccasins Stifled at Flagler to Close out Non-Conference Action

    ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 5-0 loss at Flagler College on Wednesday night. The Mocs (3-2) showed up strong in the first half as they were able to keep No. 14 Flagler (3-0) off the board in the opening period, but the Saints showed why they entered the game as one of the top-15 teams in the country by using a five-goal second half to remain unbeaten.
  • Florida Southern Moves to 3-1 on the Season with 2-0 Win at Delta State

    CLEVELAND, Miss. - Florida Southern College women's soccer moved back into the win column as it picked up win number three on the season. For the second time in two games, Madison Hald opened the game's scoring with a goal in the 13' minute. This would eventually become the Mocs (3-1) only goal needed to beat the host Delta State (0-1-2). For the third time this season, Freshmen Jenny Staten turned in a clean sheet.   
  • Moccasins Fall to Union (Tenn.) for First Loss of 2019

    CLEVELAND, Miss. - Florida Southern College women's soccer dropped its first contest of the season in a 2-1 double-overtime neutral-site loss to Union (Tenn.). Despite 16 shots on the night as the Bulldogs (1-0) fought back to hand the Mocs (2-1) the loss. Madison Hald had the only goal for Florida Southern early in the second half. Freshmen Jenny Staten's scoreless minute's streak ended at 258:04 to start her career.  
  • Mocs Ranked Seventh in South Region and Announce Schedule Change for Friday

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer has earned some regional recognition after opening the season 2-0 for the first time in over a decade. The Moccasins came in seven in the South Region in this week's United Soccer Coaches South Region poll after a pair of 1-0 wins over Shorter and Georgia College last week.

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer closed out the first homestand of the season with a 1-0 victory over Georiga College on Sunday afternoon on Moccasin Field at the Barnett Athletic Complex. The two teams were evenly matched up as the Mocs (2-0) capitalized on a costly foul by the Bobcats (0-2) early in the second half. For the second consecutive match, freshmen Jenny Staten kept the opposition out of the back of the net to keep Georgia College still searching for that first victory of 2019. 
  • Staten Turns in Clean Sheet in Collegiate Debut as Peck Knocks Home Game Winner in the 70th Minute

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer opened its season on Friday night with its first win of the 2019 season on Moccasin Field. Freshmen Jenny Staten made her collegiate debut and kept Shorter University off the scoreboard for the entire 90 minutes. Florida Southern dominated the offensive zone throughout the course of the game maintaining possession for more than sixty percent of the game. The Mocs' (1-0) Rachel Peck knocked home the game-winning goal in the 70th minute to give the Hawks (0-1) their first loss of the new season. 
  • Women's Soccer Opens 2019 Season on Friday

    LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's soccer team will take to the field to open the 2019 season at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 when it hosts Shorter University. Paul Lawrence will begin his third season as the head coach of the Moccasins as they get set to host a pair of games on opening weekend. Game two will bring the Bobcats of Georgia College (Sept. 8) to Moccasin Field to close out the first homestand of the season. A season ago, the Mocs finished with a 5-10-1 record and narrowly missed out on a spot in the Sunshine State Conference tournament.

    MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern College women's soccer has been selected to finish seventh in the annual Sunshine State Conference preseason coaches poll. SSC women's soccer coaches have chosen Barry University as the preseason favorite in 2019. The Buccaneers have been picked to repeat as league champions after receiving 92 total points and five first-place votes in the poll.
  • Lawrence Announces the Addition of Seven for 2019

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern women's soccer head coach Paul Lawrence has announced the seven incoming student-athletes who will join the Mocs program for the fall 2019 season. In this group of seven, three signees this year are from Florida. The class also features strong talent from the Midwest, a group that includes two players from Illinois, and one from Minnesota. A West Coast representative and transfer from the state of Washington rounds out the class.

    LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern women's soccer head coach Paul Lawrence has announced his team's schedule for the upcoming 2019 season. The Moccasins open the new season with three home games in a four-day span. Florida Southern will host Valdosta State on Thursday, Sept. 5 and Shorter on Friday, Sept. 6 to kick off the 2019 campaign. This year's schedule includes eight home matches, as well as a trip to Cleveland, Miss. for a pair of non-conference matches.
