  • Moore Named 2018-19 Team MVP

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Throughout the month of July, Florida Southern College Athletics will release its list of team MVPs for the 2018-19 season. Each MVP was selected by the team's head coach, and the list includes some of the top student-athletes in the country. MVPs will be revealed each weekday during the month at 10 a.m., and a list of their scheduled release dates can be found below.

  • Florida Southern Swimming Teams Earn Academic Honor from CSCAA

    The Florida Southern swimming teams, under the direction of head coach Andy Robins, have been named to the list of College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) Scholar All-America teams for the spring 2019 semester. The CSCAA recognizes those teams achieving the GPA of 3.0 or higher for the semester.

  • Florida Southern Finishes 18th in Final Learfield Cup Standings

    CLEVELAND, Ohio - Florida Southern College finished 18th in the final 2018-19 NCAA Division II Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup standings, it was announced this week. The Moccasins made a combined 11 NCAA postseason appearances this past year, including top-10 finishes in men's golf (third), women's basketball (ninth) and women's lacrosse (ninth).
  • Assistant Swimming Coach Kendal Casey Brings Home Fourth-Place Overall Finish from Swim Around Key West

    KEY WEST, FLA. - While the Florida Southern swimming teams have been on their summer break since graduation in early May, one member of the program took part in a competition of a slightly different kind. Assistant coach Kendal Casey recently competed in the Swim Around Key West and brought home a fourth-place overall finish in the 43rd annual event.

    INDIANAPOLIS – Three more members of the Florida Southern women’s swimming team added their names to the list of All-Americans this year as the Moccasins’ 800-freestyle relay team finished 11th on day three of the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships. It marked the ninth year in a row the Moccasins earned All-American honors in that event.

    INDIANAPOLIS – On the second day of the NCAA Division II Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships, senior Katie Moore gave Florida Southern its first points of the meet by reaching the consolation finals of the 200-freestyle, picking up the second All-American award of her career.
  • Moccasins Open 2019 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships with Moore Swimming 1,000-Freestyle

    INDIANAPOLIS – The Florida Southern women’s swimming team opened the 2019 NCAA Division II Championships with just one competitor in one event Wednesday, with Katie Moore taking part in the 1,000-freestyle. The senior finished 18th out of 36 swimmers in the first of her four individual events at the championship meet.
  • National Swimming & Diving Championships Begin Wednesday with 16 Moccasins Set to Compete

    INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division II National Swimming and Diving Championships begin on Wednesday at the IUPUI Natatorium where Florida Southern will be represented by 16 of its best swimmers under first-year head coach Andy Robins. Ten men and six women are on the roster for the trip to Indianapolis, which is hosting the championships for the third time in the last five years, as the Moccasins look to add to their list of impressive accomplishments over the last 10 years. During that time the Mocs have brought home 15 gold medals between the men and women, with at least one individual or relay national champion in seven of the last nine years.
  • Moore and DeGrace Earn Spots on All-SSC Women’s Swimming Team

    MELBOURNE, FL – Florida Southern seniors Katie Moore and Haley DeGrace have been named to the All-Sunshine State Conference Women’s Swimming Team in voting conducted by league coaches. Moore is a member of the team for the second year in a row, and DeGrace is on the team for the first time.
  • Six Women's Swimmers Headed to Indianapolis for NCAA Division II National Championships

    INDIANAPOLIS – Florida Southern has had three members of its women’s swimming team selected to compete in the NCAA Division II National Championships, March 13-16 in Indianapolis at the IU Natatorium, and head coach Andy Robins is also bringing three additional swimmers to compete in relay events only. Returning to the national finals are seniors Haley DeGrace and Katie Moore, and joining them is junior Malin Wallen who has qualified in her first year with the Moccasins as a junior college transfer.

    CLEARWATER, FLA. – Florida Southern’s Katie Moore and Nova Southeastern’s Emma Sundstedt went head-to-head in another tight SSC Championship race Friday night, and this time Moore flipped the results in her favor. The Moccasin senior held off the SSC’s defending champion down the stretch to win the 200-freestyle and give the Moccasin women's team their first gold medal of the meet. Florida Southern is now in fifth place in the overall standings halfway through the meet.

    CLEARWATER, FLA. – Senior Katie Moore had Florida Southern’s top finish Thursday night on the first day of the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Women’s Swimming Championships with a silver medal in the 1,000-freestyle, and three Moccasins scored in the 50-freestyle to help them end day one tied for fourth place overall.

The NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum engages a diverse and dynamic representation of student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and administrators.
  • Florida Southern Swimming Honored with CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Awards

    COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Florida Southern swimming teams have been recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) in its annual list of Scholar All-America Teams. Announced on Tuesday (Jan. 22), the Moccasin men ranked 10th in the country at the Division II level with a 3.36 grade point average for the fall semester, and the women were tied for 12th with a 3.57. To be selected as a Scholar All-America Team, programs must achieve a GPA of 3.00 or higher for the semester being awarded.

    MELBOURNE, FL – Florida Southern’s Katie Moore has been selected as the January 21 Sunshine State Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week for her performance in the Moccasins’ final dual meet of the regular season against Indian River State. The senior from Phoenix, Arizona is winning the award for the first time in her career after transferring to Florida Southern prior to last season, and she’s the first Moccasin women’s swimmer to claim that award this season.

    For the first time this season, and the first time ever under new head coach Andy Robins, the Florida Southern swimming teams will have a chance to compete in their own pool as the Moccasins host Emory University at the Hollis Wellness Center Friday at 4 p.m. The men's team goes into that meet ranked No. 13 in the January 9 CSCAA National Poll, and the women are ranked No. 17.
