NEW ORLEANS, LA - Sophomore Hannah Flemming and junior Ysabella Guerra earned All-Region honors as the USTFCCCA announced the 2019 NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Individuals on Tuesday afternoon. The awards mark the first time in program history that a women's track athlete has been named an All-Region Individual.
Flemming was named All-Region for both the 1,500-meter run and 5,000-meter run. The sophomore from Titusville set school records this spring in the 5,000-meter run on April 14 at the Bison Outdoor Classic (17:30.58) and in the 1,500-meter run on April 5 at the UNF Invitational (4:42.40). Flemming set another school record this past semester in the 800-meter run (2:17.63) at the South Florida Collegiate Invitational and additionally holds school records in the mile run (5:21.99), distance medley relay (12:59.54) and 4x800-meter relay (10:08.38). Three of the four top times in the 1,500-meter run were set by Flemming this spring.
Guerra was named an All-Region Individual in the 10,000-meter run. The junior ran a 38:22.04 pace on April 14 at the Bison Outdoor Classic, the second-fastest performance in program history.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of the region's top-3 relay teams. A total of 1831 honors were handed out to USTFCCCA member institutions, which included 926 to men's programs and an additional 905 to women's programs.
