Nova Southeastern held off a Moccasin rally in the fourth set and claimed a 25-22, 18-25, 25-21, 25-22 Sunshine State Conference win Friday night at Jenkins Field House.
With a 2-1 lead in the match, the Sharks had pulled away to a 17-10 advantage in the fourth set. The Mocs rallied for six unanswered points to narrow the margin to 17-16, but never could pull even and the Sharks went on to claim the fourth set and the match on a kill by Lucia Cizmarova.
The Sharks (12-7, 3-3 SSC) had three players in double figures in kills, led by Jenerra McGruder's 15.Â Cizmarova and Molly Sigerich each had 11.
For the Moccasins, Julia Borecka posted her eighth double-double of the season with a 17-kill, 10-dig performance. Anna Greenwood added 14 kills, while Anna Niebuhr recorded 21 digs.
The Moccasins (10-9, 3-5 SSC) head north for their next two matches, playing at Dowling (N.Y.) Sunday at 1 p.m. and at New Haven (Conn.) Monday at 5 p.m.
