Playing a nationally-ranked team for the third consecutive match at the Premier Challenge in Denver, the Moccasins dropped a four-set match to 16th-ranked Seattle Pacific, 17-25, 25-14, 21-25, 18-25, in the first of their two contests Saturday. Their final match will be at 4:30 p.m. (ET) against either sixth-ranked Southwest Minnesota or West Florida.
Against Seattle Pacific, after the two teams split the first two sets, the Moccasins were tied at 15-15 in the third set when Seattle Pacific pulled ahead with a 3-0 run that let them hold the lead the rest of the set. In the fourth set it was a 4-0 Seattle Pacific run with the score tied at 10-10 that allowed Seattle Pacific (5-1) to take the lead for good.
Lauren Huber led the Moccasins (4-3) with 13 kills and hit .417 for the match. Ali Skayhan delivered 36 assists and shared the team lead in digs with Kate Stromberg at 14.
