Matching their season-high hitting percentage of .391, the Moccasins finished their regular season with a 25-15, 25-15, 25-21 win at Nova Southeastern Friday night.
The win was the Moccasins' fourth straight, boosting their overall record to 17-12 and giving them a final Sunshine State Conference mark of 11-5, which gave them a tie for third place with Rollins after Rollins lost in five sets Saturday to Nova Southeastern.
Erin Callahan led the Mocs with 12 kills and hit .688 for the match. Lauren Huber collected 10 kills and hit .455, while Kate Stromberg added nine kills and hit .471. In addition, Anne Pietkiewicz and Diana Castrillon each tallied eight kills. Anna Niebuhr led the defensive effort with 14 digs.
While the Moccasins hit .391, the Sharks hit just .158. Danielle Graham led Nova with 11 kills.
The Mocs now will wait for an expected bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament when the tournament selections are announced Sunday night at 10 p.m. Ranked fifth in the latest South Region rankings, the Moccasins figure to be one of four SSC teams to make the eight-team South Regional that will be played Nov. 17-19 at Tampa.
