Top-seeded Tampa ended the Moccasins' season with a 25-11, 27-25, 25-17 win in the NCAA South Regional semifinals Friday night at Tampa.
The Spartans (31-1) advanced to Saturday's championship match against Eckerd. FSC finished at 18-13.
Gabby Fernandez led the Moccasins with 13 kills and hit .423 for the match. Seniors Erin Callahan and Lauren Huber each had seven kills in their final FSC match.
Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year Danielle Selkridge led Tampa with 12 kills and five blocks.
After the Spartans won the first set, 25-11, the Moccasins were one point away from winning the second set, but Tampa rallied from four points down, 22-18, to win the set. The Moccasins were up 24-21, but Tampa finished with a 6-1 run to take a 2-0 lead. In the third set, Tampa pulled away from a 13-13 tie with three unanswered points led the rest of the set.
