Mocs Minutes: Basketballs host Saint Leo in Midweek Showdown

  • Florida Southern returns home after two road wins at Embry-Riddle (1/5) and at No.20/12 Eckerd (1/8). The Moccasins defeated Embry-Riddle 63-44 before taking down the undefeated Tritons on thier home court, 56-55. FSC is currently on a four game win streak with Whitney Jacob leading the way after hitting the game-winning 3-pointer at Eckerd on Saturday. Whitney Jacob led the way with 23 points, followed by Julia Jenike with 17 points. Defensively, Ashley Shell and Julia Jenike came away with eight rebounds and one block a piece.
  • On the season, Whitney Jacob is leading the team in scoring with a 17.8 per game average and 213 overall points. Julia Jenike is averaging .431 from beyond the 3-point arc and 13.4 ppg. Paula Real is averaging 2.7 assists standing at a total of 32, followed by Sara Wohlgemuth with 33 total assists and an average of 2.5.

  • Florida Southern returns home after two road battles at no. 22/17 Embry-Riddle (1/5) and at Eckerd (1/8). The Moccasins fell at Embry-Riddle 113-89 but bounced back with a much needed win at Ecked, 66-63. In the win, FSC saw E.J. Dambreville notched a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds while Jack Casale joined in the double-double affair with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Dominick Denny tallied a career-high 14 points as Pierce Kiesler added 10.
  • On the season, Xavier Rhodes is leading the team in scoring with a 15.2 per game average while Jack Casale is the overall leader with 207 total points at 13.8 ppg. Tarik Mckelphin and E.J. Dambreville both average double-figures at 13.5 and 12.9, respectively. Dambreville is the team leader in rebounding, standing at 145 on the season and holds an 11.2 average.

  • On the season, Francis Sio edges Frank Webb Jr. in scoring per game 14.9 to 14.5, while Webb Jr. is the team leader in rebounding with 96 on the year for a 8.0 average.
  • In conference play, Francis Sio is the leader of four double-figure scorers with a 20.5 points per game average ahead of Frank Webb Jr and Wade Coomer (15.3), and Jared Coomer (11.0). As a team through six completed games, the Lions average 79.8 points per game, eighth in the league standings.
